Tuesday: We just went out and we knocked it was pretty average. We then had dinner and then had a lesson with a guy named John he is super cool and served in the Army for 26 years so he has been to quite a few places and he loves hunting he has a bear and a few elk in his house.
Wednesday: We woke up and went to district council then Elder Littlefield had to get some cavities fixed so I spent time at a dental office with a bunch of TV shows from the 40's and 50's playing. I then went on exchanges with Elder Barker and we went to his area and went to a town called Altoona. So we knocked and found a guy who reminded me of a kind Iowan from Uncle Rico. We went by a ton of their people as well. A cool experience that came out of this is that we went to get a beverage and we went into this Pilot mega gas station. Honestly it felt like the cross country road trips my family and I would go on. We had gotten our beverage and we were checking out. Then the cashier started telling us we need to come around more often because she said she recognized we were not only missionaries but missionaries of Jesus Christ which was really cool. She also said all the truckers need Jesus. So that was cool. I thought Altoona was going to be a poe dunk town, but it had a giant outlet mall. Plus it had a giant horse racing track/casino. I had not seen a horse racing track since Kentucky. It was called Prairie Meadows .
Thursday: Nothing pretty much happened I rolled my ankle playing basketball so that's just been a pain to deal with. So lesson don't fall on your ankle funny.
Friday: I went on a exchange with one of my Zone Leaders Elder Judy and he has been super fun to serve around for six months. We always have weird stuff happen to us when we are on exchanges together. So we drove down to Des Moines cause he is over the YSA, which his area is legit like half of Iowa. So we went downtown. Traffic was ridiculous due to state high school basketball games going on. It was a super fun city to go to. We spent most of our day in west Des Moines. It was pretty fun. Pretty much everyone we talked to was straight up rude. Elder Judy and I felt like we couldn't do anything we just kept on knocking and we both had this off colored feeling, but we felt like we needed to continue. So we did we got mocked by like 3 or 4 people and we were like eh let's just keep knocking and we knocked into this woman who seemed way open and she proceeded to tell us she was busy, but would love for us to come back. Then that dark feeling went away and the spirit was so strong. So I guess the lesson is when life gets dark and dreary just relay on God and darkness is before the dawn.
Saturday: Elder Judy and I got ready and the other elders left out of town and so we decided to journey to their apartment to get his phone with the sim card. Well it was raining pretty hard and their were some massive puddles. Elder Judy was getting wrecked cause he had low cut shoes on but I had my good old Keen Boots just walking straight through them and my feet were not wet at all. We then went to knock and we found 4 people that seemed genuinely interested at a nicer apartment complex we were hyped. We also passed out all of our Book of Mormons and the other elders were in a lesson for like two hours and and they had a another lesson so we got stuck there for a while. We tried to knock without a Book Of Mormon, but that just does not work haha. So we just walked to a near Casey's and then back to the complex to wait for the other elders. We had not eaten lunch so we were like let's go to a buffet and it was 4:00 at this point so all of them were dinner prices so we were like Mexican restaurants give us a lot of food for like half the price so we went to one and it was some of the worst Mexican food I have ever had. We then got invited to a Filipino family with our zone leaders and it was a unique cuisine. They kept on making fun of the white boys who need a fork cause they legit eat with their hands. Then we had a dinner appointment which was good but we ended up eating a ton we all felt sick afterward.
Sunday: We went to church and stuff which was good pretty much nothing happened other than we went to a dinner with a guy from England and we had a bunch of English food which was good. Then we did Come Follow Me time with all the elders and that turned into a deep doctrine show.
So in our mission we have been asked to show the "This is Church Video" and the "Welcome" video and both can be used as missionary tools. I encourage all of you to look at those videos and even share where you feel to share them.
Love y'all
