21 years old, 20 months as a missionary

Well guys, some of you have been reading my emails for the past 20 months to this day. Isn't that pretty crazy! I have got to say it definitely feels like its went by fast but some times it feels like years. But I am grateful for the next 4 in half months I'll be a missionary.

Monday: So Monday we went to a town called Agency in between us and Ottumwa. For those of you who this means nothing to just remember its boonie Iowa(not Boone Iowa). We helped a member do some service for one of his neighbors removing tree branches. It was a good opportunity to serve and I am grateful we were able to do that. We then went to Ottumwa and played a card game called bang that is pretty fun. We then went to a dinner with the shaners and let me tell you it's always a hoot with them.

Tuesday: We got moving and did our morning exercise then we ended up going to the library and cleaning the disks like good old library service helpers. Then we came back had lunch. Then we went by some people and it was good. We then went and ate dinner with the curtis family and had a super super super spiritual imvidual mission planning session with them it was great.

Wednesday: We got in contact with a less active who is about 25 and super friendly. We stopped by him and got to know him his non member girlfriend also listened to us not to mention he was like 20 minutes late to work but wanted to talk to us. I am so grateful for experiences like these.

Thursday: We had district council Elder Critchfield gave a super great training and did some role plays that were fun. We then got taken out by a member in the Ottumwa ward to Pizza ranch. It's an all you can eat pizza place so that was good. I also ate a pepper and my whole mouth was burnt for probably a solid hour in a half lol. I drank a lot of diet coke and I couldn't get it to leave. It was pretty brutal. I then was able to go on a exchange with Elder Ackroyd. He is a new missionary and he definitely is loves the work which is a great quality.  We talked to a lot of people. We had some interesting conversations that went no where other then a conversation with a few high school kids. I definitely hope a good seed was planted with these young men. We also had a lesson with one of our people Corri and we had a super spiritual lesson with him on stopping smoking. He agreed he needed to stop and he wanted to be baptized. As we left and started to look for the other guys we came back because we were like if a kids lost in the grocery store they should just stay put so we did. Long behold we saw Corri smoking it was disappointing but everyone has agency.

Friday : We dropped off the other guys and then we had lunch with the guy in his 20s Stewart. We had a great time talking and getting to know him. He also expressed that he would like to show his non member girlfriend conference.

Saturday: it was the first day of conference and we watched both sessions with our bishop because a less active cancelled on the afternoon session but he set up a return appointment so that's more then a average less active. But it was great watching both of the sessions and seeing how the youth programs are going to change. Something that I really liked from Saturdays session was Terrance c Vinson talk about how when life gets tough just keep on trying and continue to obey the commandments.

Sunday: Well I turned 21 I so that's pretty neat. I opened some gifts and stuff so that was great. I also have been blessed for both years of mission having conference on my birthday. We went back to the bishops for the morning conference which was fun and he made banana bread. We then went to the Curtis family and watched the second session and had dinner where they made cafe Rio type burritos that were good and we celebrated my birthday a little more. Then I was able to call my family and talk to them and was able to talk to Brodie which is always a good time. Honestly todays sessions both had some really good talks but I will have to say my favorite talks where Preisdent Eyrings and the primary second counselors talk. I loved how Elder Eyring talked about how holiness leads to happiness. I also love how the primary second counselor talked about how we can all share the gospel. I truly love hearing from all of these inspired Servants of God.

Love y'all
