Millions of peaches featuring zone conference

Monday: The district had a awesome time. The Elders in our district we went mobbing around town eating chick Fila and going to dicks sporting goods. We also went to Ross .  We then drove to the church and got lit with the sisters as well. Then p day ended but Not before I Singly handled beat @ElderHill and @ElderSharp in a game of 48. You know I am clutch. Then our p day ended and we started a exchange then a member brought us dinner it was kinda under cooked meat so  ... spoiler alert we survived. Elder sharp and I are homies he is a Bengals fan and also a reds fan so we love the reds. Well I was with him for this exchange and we pretty much just messed around and we opened a window and then it didn't shut so we fixed a window at the church then drove to Normals apartment and then went to Jewl Osco and got our selves some delicious Berry blast Dr Pepper. We then partied that night and we ended up staying all night talking about our great grandparents in world war 2. We also did some dumb mock WWE role play thing. If one thing I have learned on my mission is we are so easily entertained.

Tuesday: We awoke and we went and showered and then split up. Elder sharp and I chilled. While the other two left for a blessing appointment.  Then Elder Sharp and I left for service at a food bank. It was lit. The food bank had basketball courts in the warehouse and it just reminded me of the office basketball episode.  Well our job was to unload cosco peaches and take em out of the packages and mark the bar code so they couldn't be sold. Well we did like a thousand of them and we had like system going on so I would just pick up the boxes and put them on the table and the people would do the rest. We were there with the sister missionaries in Bloomington so that was fun. What wasn't fun is I got a box cut kinda like a paper cut but with a box and I was bleeding without knowing it. They were like what is this red substance on the package.  They were like are you bleeding and I was like no I am not bleeding and then I was so I had to band aid my hand so that was fun. We then went to panda Express to get food and then we went to a gas station to get a bevy and then we chilled and ate the food at the bed bath and beyond packing lot. We then went to Ross to return some of elder sharps pants. But miracle we met someone and talked to them and they said they wanted to come check out church. We then had some time left on our lunch so I showed Elder sharp what a TJ Maxx was and showed him golf pants. We then knocked and went by some people.

Wednesday: a member drove us around and we visited some people and some less actives but non of them where home expect a family that only spoke Spanish it was wild. He hooked us up with some blizzards.

Thursday: We did some work and then we had to Drive to Peoria to meet up with our car pool people so we could drive to Davenport to stay the night. Because we had zone conference on Friday. So We made the hour 20 journey to Peoria where we met up with Pekin. And the other Peoria zls and Normal. We then drove to Galesburg to pick up kewanee and we then went to Davenport where there was 13 elders who slept in the same apartment. It felt like a camping trip. It was good seeing the members of our zone and seeing past companions like Elder Glenn.

Friday: We woke up Early like 5:50 showered and then went and got breakfast at McDonald's.  We then drove to Iowa City.  We got there and it was good seeing al ot of my mission homies. It was also great getting to know the zone better but it was sad because it was the Badgers last zone conference with us before they head home. I felt happy that they had served so diligently and that they are going home to be with family. It was pretty sad tho we sang God be with you till we meet again and me and elder Mather were watching people cry and hoping we weren't next. We then got a hug from both president Badger and sister Badger and a picture. I definitely am so grateful for everything they have done for the mission. We drove back to galesburg to have a zone dinner . I got us to go to A Mexican restaurant called Acapulcos that I went to a lot in Galesburg.  The owner even asked why I hadn't been the re in forever. It was cool getting to know our zone as well. I did a lot of talking with Galesburg sisters giving them referrals and stuff. I truly miss Galesburg even tho it was a rough area. It helped build a lot of character and I met a ton of great members.  We then dropped back Kewanne at the church in Galesburg and I saw some members I knew. So i talked to them it was nice talking to them again. I tried to visit my homie Butch but he did not answer.  Butch is the guy I found last August who has a testimony but hasn't been baptized yet. We then drove to Peoria then got in our car and drove to Pontiac. We got home pretty late .

Saturday: not much happened other then we went to Wendy's and they called Elder Hill Gill haha.

Sunday: we had these stake missionaries come and they taught addiction recover stuff for three straight hours. Branch council then sacrament meeting and then Sunday school . I also found out that I am third cousins with like half the branch Haha.

Oh No, what happened to the 200 watermelons?

Well this week was by golly one of the funniest but wack weeks ever.

Monday: We Squaded up and went down to Bloomington-Normal yes that's the name lol . It's where state farm is based and also it is home to Illinois State. It's a pretty great place and isn't ghetto tbh it's pretty nice. Basically we played ball and we are all equally trash which is nice instead of having these competitive ball players. We then called home and stuff so it was pretty fun. We then drove to sonic for a beverage before we drove back to Pontiac then. A member wanted to meet and it was a super awkward experience. So fyi dont be that awkward member to missionaries.

Tuesday: We woke up and helped our homies at the food pantry and helped them unload a truck. They are some good old homies they all have good stories and it's been awesome getting to know them as we serve them. We unloaded a ton of meats cupcakes and bananas.  It was also awesome because one of the old guys actually knew where Logan was and was pretty impressed when he went there. He also likes running so I talked to him about that. We then went by a guy being taught and met his son and he was super lit and so we are super excited to see where he goes.

Wednesday: Our Homie Bill from the food pantry called us and was like are you guys available to come help us. And we was like o yes we are down. He then proceeds to tell us that they are expecting 200 watermelons. Yes I said it 200 watermelons. He said that so causally I was like o man that's a lot of melons. So we got there and a little earlier. The old ladies bless there heart they did what every good grandma would do feed you. So one of our from Carol who is like 86 gave me a muffin. And so I tried to eat the whole muffin but I couldn't . For those of you that don't know I ain't no breakfast guy. Then they gave me pineapple scallop.  Which was good but it just made me more full. We then talked to our homies and got to know them. We heard some good back in nam stories. We also heard all about Carol's life which was cool. We ended up sitting there for an hour in a half before we had to go and the watermelons never came. The pantry homies were kind of mad
. They kept on making jokes that the driver got robbed in the south side of Chicago lol. Everyone out here makes fun of Chicago it's pretty funny tbhπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ. WE then went to a place called McDonald's for lunch even tho I wasn't that hungry I didn't just want noodles.  I also did a cover of hey their Deliah with my goat companion who knows how to guitar it up .

Thursday: we had district council. It was good just like any other meeting and we had some good food . It was nice seeing everyone but we had some changes to our missionary work which I ain't a fan of, but I will trust in the Lord #Blessings. Then we drove back and had a lit time back in Pontiac. We checked out the prison let me tell you y'all should all Google the Pontiac penitentiary.  It's pretty old and crazy looking. We then did some more missionary work then. We worked on two more covers and that was fun.

Friday: We awoke and then pretty much we went by our guy Joshua and met his dad and his sister. They are all super cool. They would be an awesome addition to the branch. We then had a member dinner and it was a great time. In a town caller Chenea.

Saturday: Saturday is a special day it's when we get bashed by Black Israelites. So fyi most of you probably don't know what a black Israelite is. They basically believe that Jesus, moses and pretty much any prophet is black. They also believe that you must cleave unto the black people to get accepted into heaven. Which is kind of weird i mean it's like not cleaving unto God and jesus. He also got his information from a YouTube post called big judah. I asked him about how big Judah had authority and he could not tell me. He also told us all about how we were being dammed and how our church is just a branch of off of the catholic church which we told him multiple times that was false. Get this but he believes in the book of mormon but believes that only black people can truly translate and we can't  understand it. Lol Joseph Smith the prophet was white who translated it. He then went on and talked about slavery and all this stuff and the 50 stars are all satanic. Which makes no sense because you could ask a third grader and they will say because the United States has 50 states. We also saw some Republic of Chiraq propaganda on his YouTube history. I was so mad because it's like one thing to hate on the church. And it's one thing to hate on the country. But like he was giving zero respect to both and I was getting mad. I haven't gotten mad that much on my mission but let me tell you. I and my companion Elder Hill we were triggered.  For two hours we endured this which was wild. We then went to Arbys because we both like let's chill and have a good time after that tense moment.

Sunday: Was a good day we went to church and Elder Hill gave a talk and it was pretty good talk. We then had Sunday school and I got to meet a family that is a husband and wife and they are both dentists who have Book Of Mormons at their practice. They also have a video on comeuntochrist.org about their conversion which I will put a link to it(https://www.comeuntochrist.org/belong/welcome/carleys-book-of-mormon) (fyi the picture of them at church is not in Pontiac, Pontiac has a tiny church)O yes in Pontiac we have some good people but we also have some crazies. I also got to meet some other members. Well in Galesburg some members called me Elder Hunslinger and now it's back lol some members call me that here. Got to love Illinois. We then talked to our pops which was fun. I definitely enjoyed talking to my dad and talking to the rest of my family. Since it was fathers day I'll give my dad a shout out. He definitely has been great role model in my life and I am truly grateful for his example.

Sincerely
Elder Caylor Hunsaker

Guess who's back yeah back again

Well guess what I am back in Illinois after this transfer I will have spent a year in Illinois! I only spent about 6 months in Iowa.  I am super glad to be back in the Peoria zone so many good memories lay in this zone. It was just sad not seeing all the missionaries that have had giant impacts on my mission not being here. Plus driving through Galesburg was wild we drove past it and I was looking at like a child seeing Disney World. I am so grateful for all the hard work I put in at all of my areas. It really goes to show how much you really love the people even when you leave. With all that stuff being said I am in Pontiac Illinois and it's a small town fyi the most eastern area in the mission. We 120 miles from Chicago I think. It also has the state penitentiary in it. And it's kinda in town. The prison straight up looks like Alcatraz.

Monday: It was our weird Monday. So we emailed and it was lit. We then went on a exchange and I went with a Spanish elder. We straight up just had a ton of spainish lessons so I straight up didn't know what he was saying.

Tuesday: I was told I was leaving Creston.  And that i would be going to Pontiac Illinois. I then packed and then said bye to a member family while elder Stewart lassoed them . We then went and stayed the night in Osceola.

Wednesday: We had super p day I saw some awesome missionaries and said bye to them and got to chill with them all day. We then stayed the night with Raccon River, which is in a smaller town by the name of van meter. But they had a dinner so we chilled in Des Moines. We went to Scheels and chilled and went and checked out all the clearance stuff. I almost bought an Iowa wolves shirt( g league team) . But I didn't.  We then went to b dubs and got some good food. I got the philly cheese stakes.  We also had a super cute waitress who was flirting with us but of course we weren't because we are missionaries. We then went chilled at the mall. Then we skirted to van meter.

Thursday:
We woke up for transfers drove to Des Moines. I met up with Elder Jarvis and Elder Stoddard and we drove to Iowa city such a great time. I absolutely love those two Elders. Elder Jarvis was my first Companion in Galesburg and Elder Stoddard was my zone leader two transfer ago. While we were driving we saw an Idaho plate so we put our book of mormons to the window and it was a cowboy who smiled and waved at us. That's always lit. So if you ever drive out of Utah and see missonionaries waving at you with book of mormons like hooligans it makes our day when we see members in general especially when their from Utah and Idaho and stuff. I then got in a transfer van and got to be well acquainted with elder Sharp and Elder Broby..we then got to the worlds biggest truck stop and had lunch them went off to Peoria..where I had a great reunion with Elder Madsen and Elder Gardner. I then met my comp Elder Hill and we drifted all the way to Pontiac .

Friday: We road our bikes around town went to the dinky public library where the Librarian calls us by our first name. So weird to be called Caylor by some rando who doesn't really know me. It was quite the workout.Plus the bike seats wreck you so hard. We went by some people and then went and got beverages at Thorntons (there was one in Galesburg) .

Saturday: We had district council and it was lit. We got to know each other and we have so many great elders and sisters in this district it will be a party. We then went to district lunch at Portillo's which is a Chicago restaurant that is utterly over priced I have had two negative experiences there. But I will say the environment is cool but the food isn't that good other then their cake shakes but other then that the foods trash. In summary only go for the cake shakes . So I spent a good amount of money for a subpar sandwich. We then drove back and stopped by some more people and we found a lady that lives right across from the prison it was pretty wild.

Sunday:  We went to church were I found out there is only 40 people in the branch and like ten of them are related to Abraham Hunsaker.  We then had a homecoming from a missionary that just got back From the Spain Barcelona mission. He gave a great talk and then his girlfriend talked as well. It was kinda funny cause I have buddy in that mission right now and he knows his trainer. And said he was in a party city. I also had a Iowa lapel and some of the members from south America thought I was from France but the ironic thing is it legit says Iowa on it ..... we then studied and made spaghetti.

Tornados and baptism

Monday:  Early on we called home and it was Memorial Day so that was cool then we went to Osceola and had a member dinner and that was pretty much it.

Tuesday: We finished our exchange and we were about to go to Creston and we got to city limits and got a call from our mission president and found out the Elder I was with had to be eted (emergency transferred) because another elder needed to be eted . So we wasted miles drove back. Then we had to stay the night due to tornado watches so that was interesting.

Wednesday: Pretty much we were stopped by a whole bunch of people so that was kind of frustrating because people are just so wild. We got back in contact with a person being taught and invited her to church.

Thursday: We had district council and then went and got KFC which was good then we had 20 minutes left on our lunch so we went to Walmart and then Elder Stewart lost his name tag. So we went back to get my jacket at the Osceola apartment then looked at Walmart again. We then drove to Creston and then went to Walmart so he could make a ghetto name tag out of cardboard and duck tape. It was pretty innovative while he waits for an official one but all the members think it is pretty funny .

Friday: We went by two of our people and ones house was empty. The other one's house looks dead as well so we just had two people disappear.  We then did some weekly planning that was cool. We then found a guy who liked OKC and I told him I was a Jazz fan. He was like oh we are a rival, me being on a mission I didn't realize how the teams had been playing pretty intensely for the past almost year and a half . Then we went to Indianola to stay the night .

Saturday: Was a great day we drove down to Ankeny to see our guy John get baptized.  It was a wonderful experience I gave a talk as well . It was pretty great he has changed and is a great guy it was good seeing him again.  He even told me if I ever stopped by again he would take me hunting when I stop by again. He is a pretty awesome down to earth guy. We then ate at Sam's Club with the other missionaries which was great catching back up with them so that was great and so much fun then we drove back our whole day was wrecked but it was great cause John got baptized .

Sunday: Due to saving miles we asked a member to give us a ride he said he would be here at 9:15 he got here at 8:40 I hadn't shaved cause Sundays are a little bit more relaxed time wise. We then went to church to find the basement flooded and then they cancelled the second hour and were saying God knew our basement would flood thank goodness for a home centered course which was cool. We then had a member dinner and that was pretty much our day.
