Day 201

Well I have been on my mission 201 days. Haha that amounts to roughly six months and like three weeks. Haha whose counting anyway. Well this week was pretty slow and we pretty much did a bunch of knocking and all these people were denying us. It was pretty rough but yesterday we found some people on the last door we knocked which was super cool. So this week week on

Monday was pday so we went and played ball with the zone. Then we went back to our area and talked to those kids that were out partying and that was cool. Then my comp got a surprise birthday party it was pretty funny. So basically I'll skip to the good stuff so Thursday we got up then got our car an oil change and as we waited we went to this empty mall and walked around the only thing left in the mall was a GNC and we talked to the guy the whole time we waited for the car to be done. We got there and we had to call our vehicle Coordinator to pay the bill and he didn't answer so we were stuck there for an extra 30 minutes to haha. Then we had had exchanges with our zone leaders so we get to their apartment and they were not there so we goofed around then drove around their area it was awesome we found this giant hill and
Elder Jarvis and I  were  like wow this is the biggest hill we have seen in the mid west.

We then started exchanges and I went with Elder Barney he is a funny guy so we went straight to the hood and we met this old lady who went by Miss Jackson and she likes singing so she had us sing hymns to her and it was so funny we were so bad at singing but she liked it. The night was pretty awesome they have a gym and we worked out in the gym I miss being able to workout for more then 30 minutes. So that was good then we laid in bed and talked about a lot of stuff. Then the next day was district council and that was funny as well we had this items of discussion list and it basically is common sense but people do funny things sometimes and so there were some good items on that list. Then went and lunch with a chef but you know how professional chefs are they make a tiny amount of food. So we went and got sandwiches after. We then knocked a little bit more and nothing really happened. Elder jarvis and I then came back and I was still in my suit so we got suit pics and it was pretty fun while we were prozlyting of course. Enjoy my suit pics and the ghetto mall.

Love and miss you all!

CAT

So this week was pretty awesome I will have to say it was kind of sad as well. So Monday we emailed and then we went on a quad blitz it was awesome we played UNO at night with like 6 elders it was awesome and we talked about life and stuff it was pretty awesome. Early that day Elder Riveria and I went together on splits he is one of the funniest people I have met on my mission. We had a lesson with one of his people he is teaching named Larry and he was just roasting Larry in a loving way. Because Larry knows the church is true but won't act on it. Tuesday we got transfer calls and I am staying in Galesburg with my companion Elder Jarvis and he ended up getting promoted to become district leader. So again I am a district leader assistant again. We ended up going to get free protein cookies with Elder Roundy and Elder Christianson. We went and got the free cookies and then we saw a Pro Image that we checked out. Then we went back to our area and met with some people.

Wednesday we got up bright and early and headed to Peoria again for super p day we went to this 50's diner it was very sub par I do not recommend it. Elder Christianson and I  were triggered our 1/2 lb burger was not even close to being a half pound. We then went to Ross and I drove with Elder Scoreby, he is going to be playing college basketball at USU  Eastern.  He wanted these North Carolina Jordan's and I thought it was so funny that he wouldn't buy them. We then got to the church and some elders wanted to go to the Caterpillar Visitor Center it was pretty great they have a great Nascar team and trying to work those simulators is  really a struggle . Also it gave me a better appreciation for what CAT does. They help the mining industry all the way to cruise industry.  It was awesome I got a pretty dope shirt. Well the bad news is that night I got a bloody nose and I bled on it I was so mad but I got most of the blood off thanks to the handy dandy ride to go stuff.  Then Thursday the bloody nose struck again this time it was raining a lot so I didn't even notice I was bleeding till there was blood on my white shirt.   Nothing really happened we knocked and found people to teach. Sunday was my companions birthday a family gave him a cake it was pretty great. Also we smelled gas so we ran around our apartment complex asking people if they left their gas on and we fixed it after a few lost brain cells.

Week 25

I was not even counting the weeks I got an email from a sister in my MTC district and she put the week so I guess I am counting again . So this week has been awesome! We found four new people that we are teaching. To start off I will just put the more significant things that have happened this week. So basically my comp and I have been tracting this week, but we have had some meetings with some people too. So this week we did some service for a man named Shawn haha he flagged us down and asked us if we could help him. He is a pretty funny guy he is 52 and is kind of stuck in the 80's for example he is tattooed from head to toe and has piercings all over and he even has a tattoo parlor in his house so while we were helping him he was giving a guy a tat. So that's pretty funny. We had a lesson with a family from the Congo I wish I would have just learned French in high school because the simple things are just so hard to say because the lady thinks we worship Mormon. We then had lunch with one of my fav people we are teaching his name is Ricky G he is a rapper and he is the funniest guy ever he has some slang that even I do not even understand . He took us to lunch and talked to us about the Book of Mormon he also brought his friend named Devon and he is the this huge guy with dreads and he wants to meet with us again. Butch is doing really well we are planning to set a date with him for him to get baptized which I am excited about. Also there was a big storm that was suppose to be coming through, but the photoshopped picture was made by my comp because the clouds were pitch black and I warned the zone and they all where like the clouds are alright. Lol so I was made a joke. This week has been pretty fun and pretty random. I am really grateful to be working out here this week seems promising.

Six Months

Sorry for sending out a blank email to some people I am trying to figure out how to email effectively on my phone lol. Second of all sorry for  not sending the email last week it told me that it sent and then during the phone call home I was told that it didn't send, which was pretty troubling. So thanks for bearing with me, I appreciate the patience. Well this week has been kind of wild because Monday we played basketball in Perioa, IL and it was pretty good. I balled out in my headband lol. Tuesday was amazing we knocked a lot and nothing was really going on except on the last door we knocked we found a man who was interested in the gospel. He seems super cool and we are really hoping next time we see him he will still want to learn more. We went to dinner with a family named the Butlers they are a younger family with two 12 year olds then like 4 kids under the age of five. They are so wild, but it's pretty fun. Then I had the opportunity to call home to wish Brodie good luck before his mission. This was an awesome experience to see how ready he was not to mention I got to see the rest of my family, and even some friends. I am so grateful I was able to see all of them and talk with them. Wednesday we went to a town called Knoxville and knocked on a street called Market Street, but the market was closed we had no success on it. We then had dinner at Hardee's. For a little bit of the day I was thinking about Brodie going into the MTC and I just remember how painful that was. Thursday we had zone conference it was pretty awesome the APs gave a killer training on finding and it was pretty dope. It was also cool to see President Badger and Sister Badger. And it was cool to see some guys I had served with there too. A lot of people thought I was new, lol it's so funny tomorrow I will be out for six months and I have just been on the edge of the mission so not a lot of people know me.  It was cool chilling with Elder Baulderston and Elder Loek. Elder Loek is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. He is from the Marshall islands and he is just wild he is so funny and he even tries to teach me Marshliese. Friday we met this guy who took us to Starbucks and then we just got hot chocolate in Augest haha but the funny thing is he idolizes Mack Wilburg so we talked to him a lot about Nauvoo and the  motab (Mormon Tabernacle choir) and he was in heaven. Saturday we grinded we found 4 new people to teach not to mention I even spoke some French to some people from the Congo and they understood me haha. Sunday we had church and dinner with this family called the Glomchit. The daughter and my companion talked about Harry Potter the whole time it was so funny.  Well I love you miss you guys and hopefully I'll figure out email haha
