Well to start of WE ARE GETTING SMARTPHONES we will no longer be in the year 2005! Haha this week has been pretty good. I will try to write better emails, but I'll start with the fun stuff that happened this week. We played volleyball with the ward on Tuesday I was trash and this man named Fred, who is in his mid thirties, was very disappointing in me it was actually hilarious the guy takes volleyball so seriously. Then on Wednesday we had interviews with the mission president and his wife, which were great! So that was pretty lit. Then we had exchanges later that day so I went with Elder Harvey and we knocked and found no one and then had dinner with a member. We then went and played some basketball with the elders quorum because there are usually non members there. So that was fantastic. Then we woke up Thursday morning and went and did splits till about four . We had a very interesting day most of the people were college students in between classes so we got some come back appointments. We knocked on this dudes house and he was sitting by the door he said who is it, we said missionaries and then he said oh no one is home lol. We then went and started knocking on a new street and a lady invited us in and we were like aye this is awesome little did we know she had dementia. She asked us are names and where we were from we thought she was just an old lady that forgot until her son called us and thought we were manipulating her. So we got out of the house as fast as we could. Friday we went to an investigators house who lives an hour away. We went with a member who's friends with him. They are both mid 80's. The funny thing is the member that took us went 25 within city limits no matter the speed limit and then went 70 outside of the city. The man we visited is named Ivan, and has a prosthetic leg and lost a eye. This man has like 40 cars and a ton of guns it was great. He even had a Rolls Royce which I know my Grandpa Teryl would like. Saturday I had hot chocolate which sums up that day. Then yesterday we helped that same member that we went to visit Ivan with, and help him with his printer lol my companion tried to fix it while I saw five mins of the Kansas Duke game that was the worst five minutes of basketball I have ever seen. Like how do you miss so many open dunks and layups. Lets hope for a Loyalla Nova championship. We then went to dinner with a family in the ward that half of them are members, but they married non members so it was like 50 50. It was cool because there were little kids running around so it felt kinda like home with all the fun crazy cousins running around. Well I love you all enjoy my pics of the cars and of me. Shout out to Brodie I am so proud of you, and cannot wait to here were you get called to. I would like to leave you guys with my testimony. This has been the most humbling experience of my life I have seen so much change in me. I have been able to accomplish so many things because of Lord. This has been the hardest experience of my life, but I am beyond grateful that I have the opportunity to invite people to come unto Christ. I am beyond grateful for the smartphones my mission will be receiving this will improve the work a lot . We will be able to reach so many that we might not have been able to before. The messages on gospel library are so good. I love you all I think and pray for y'all every day in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

I am ALIVE!
This week has went by so fast I am so grateful That I am finally getting adjusted to the mission life. I will say it has been the hardest thing in my life leaving friends and family and sports behind haha. This past week has been tough because March Madness is going on and I get updates like every few days luckily the Macomb North elders get daily updates from the members they live with so they keep me updated. So last Tuesday was a pretty usual day we pretty much did the usual tracting approach which was kinda bad. But Wednesday we got trained on family history, which was lit and then we got to go to a pizza place which was alright, but sports center was on and I was able to see some of the NFL moves such as my home boy Kirk Cousins going to the Vikings like wow but hope he does good still and then like Case Kennum. Pretty much Thursday we found some more people and that was good. Then on Friday we drove down to Iowa City for a mission conference with a 70's named Elder Costa It was good he asked me where I was from and I said Logan and he said oh that is a good place. So basically he gave us good training, but before he came he went to a missionaries departments and then took a picture of a area book because we are the only mission in the world that uses area books lol. I feel ancient and then some dude in the ward was like show me your phone and he was like whoa we had those phones ten years ago in the field. So I feel like I am in 2008. Haha, but it was good he talked about finding, teaching, and baptizing. We then went to the mall, which was fun in Iowa City and got food. Elder Harvey from the Macomb North area was driving us, and about killed us by falling asleep at the wheel but, we survived so its all good. Saturday we went to a baptism in my companions old area, which was cool. We then drove there and back with a member it was awesome. Then that night we went to one of the people that said come back later and his wife had left him like 2 hours before we came so we were able to give him hope of the gospel. Then Sunday it was basically we had four people that were supposed to come to church but they didn't we also visited the poor guy that got left by his wife. Then we went and ate dinner with the family of the bishop of the Macomb Ward. It was great. reminded me of my family feeding the missionaries. Love you all enjoy the pictures.

Week 5
Hey friends and family,
Well to begin this last p day after I talked to everyone. We balled it up at the Nauvoo Stake Center, which none of the churchs out here have the good old hardwood gym floors. Well I was balling it up and I jammed my pinky so I was like yo I just jammed my pinky. So the rest of the day it hurt. Well I woke up and my whole pinky was bruised and it was purple so I was like oh no so I texted the nurse of the mission and she informed me that I had sprained my pinky so haha. I guess missionaries aren't unbreakable. This week stuff has finally started picking up we have a pretty big teaching pool. And in general everyone is pretty nice its just the Methodists that are straight up like get out of my life. Everyone else is like hey lets talk about Jesus or they are like we are not interested but go tell others about Jesus. So basically now we go stop by peoples houses instead of tracking all day. The days we tract are so long than the days we just talk to people. Good news after pretty much not getting fed last week we are pretty booked with dinners and some lunches so that awesome. I have gotten to know people in the ward a lot better. There is something about wards outside of Utah they are so united and will help the missionaries out. The town I am in is pretty lit it has 20,000 people half of which are college students and they are definitely more open minded about the gospel so its nice just seeing them. Being in a college town I can tell you that it definitely is not as great as the best college town which is in Logan,Utah. A highlight of my week was we went to dinner with a recent convert and ESPN was on and a college basketball game was on it was Iona Vs Fairfiled that was a good game haha probably because I had not seen a basketball game in forever. I also read the bottom headlines which was fun to get some updates.

Iowa JK Illinois
Well to start of my email life was pretty hectic we woke up at 4:00 and then we went to the travel office then boarded a bus. Then we got off the bus got on trax and then we had to get off walk like half a mile get on transit and then get to the airport. It was crazy and I am so grateful that I was able to talk to my amazing family. Thursday was tough because me and my companion are white washing our area which the city we are in is Macomb, Illinois which is where the University of Western Illinois is if you can not find the city. So we knocked on doors and then got two new investigators the first night. Then the second night we got two more. So its pretty exciting but a lot of people are not interested they are pretty nice though because they say go give others Jesus. A older man let us in and started talking politics so I thought that was funny so I found out Romney is in the congress election. We basically tracked the rest of the week so that is how my life has pretty much been. Knocking on doors we have found some interesting people. On Sunday we went to church there are four elders (missionaries) in Macomb so all of us bore our testimonies on Sunday which was good I accidentally put on my wrong suit pants with my top and realized that half way through church so oops. Then we went tracting a ton and then had dinner with an older couple who is super in to plays and stuff so that was interesting, but I got a full stomach something that I have not felt in forever. Also the mission rules are pretty strict on emailing so I can email everyone but can only email for 1 hour and a half and I can only email back and fourth with family. I love you all and hope to hear from you!

PS
Well a member drove us from Iowa City and was calling Macomb a college town, but its like the only normal town for a long town. It's in the middle of no where, but it has Buffalo Wild Wings and it also has a Walmart, which is nice I am buying like corn dogs and stuff to survive the members will feed us 3 times a week so that's fun, I have spaghetti and stuff. Its just me and my companion the other elders live on the other side of town, I wish we lived together that would make it so much better. We live in an apartment that's hooked on to a members house shes an older lady that had it for her parents when they got old and they have been dead for a while. She also likes the blessings of the missionaries so its cool. The elders before us thrashed the apartment so we have had to clean it . If my mom thought I was a mess she would go ballistic on those guys. I was disgusted by it. I have realized I have a clean side and a ton of missionaries are born in a barn.
